Teach India is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by Bennett Coleman & Co Ltd. The main objective of the program is to enhance the employability prospects of the underprivileged youth of India by providing them with vocational training in spoken English. English is the primary, universal language and has become the leading language of conversation for jobs in all industries. A certain confidence to converse in English is instrumental in climbing the professional ladder in today’s global world. The Teach India initiative is implemented through partner NGOs at the ground level. They are responsible for community outreach as well as managing the day-to-day affairs and classroom logistics pertaining to the initiative. The concept of volunteerism is of prime importance in this initiative as it is the volunteers who execute the program on-ground. This program integrates passionate volunteers, ardent NGOs and enthusiastic learners. The Times Group also attempts to build a bridge between the learners and the potential employers. In the winter of 2010, Teach India began with a humble trope of 1000 learners and 150 volunteers. Presently, Teach India has grown into an organization that has existing centers in every part of Delhi NCR and Mumbai. In the five years since its inception, the Program has reached out to the underprivileged youth of our country and changed over 35,000 lives through its army of 2500+ committed volunteers across Delhi/ NCR & Mumbai. Teach India has also established partnerships with various organizations and institutions, facilitating a larger range of impact. These include Govt.
